Anastasio, Dina, and Herndon, Ryan. Guiness World Records Wild Lives: Outrageous Animal and Nature Records (copyright 2005 by Guiness World Records Ltd., a HIT Entertainment plc company, and published by Scholastic Inc., 557 Broadway, New York City, NY 10012). I can remember reading The Guiness Book of World Records as a child and/or teenager. There were some things in it that were definitely not for children! This book draws from the Guiness World Records with information of special interest to young people about the earth, plants, bugs, reptiles, birds, fish, mammals, pets, natural phenomena, and endangered species. It is very interesting. Karen purchased it for Jeremy (then age 10) and he really enjoyed reading it (we counted it as science!). The only negative that I noticed was a reference that humans are closely related to apes. Well, the authors may think that they are a monkey’s niece and nephew, but I do not. Otherwise, I found the facts fascinating.
