Adler, David A. The Fourth Floor Twins and the Sandcastle Contest, Fourth Floor Twins #6 (published in 1988 by Viking Juvenile; republished in 1990 by Penguin Group USA Incorporated). In addition to the Cam Jansen books which we have read and liked, The Fourth Floor Twins books are another set of mysteries by Adler. For a slightly younger set, I believe, than Cam Jansen, these stories involve two sets of twins, one of which is related to Cam Jansen’s schoolmate and partner, Eric Shelton. In the sixth book of the series, The Fourth Floor Twins and the Sandcastle Contest, the two sets of twins have an extraordinary day at the beach and solve the mystery of the disappearance of a rich woman’s dog. After winning a sand castle contest the children discover a dognapper. They track the culprit down by the smell of meat on his sculpture. The other Fourth Floor Twins series are Fourth Floor Twins and the Fish Snitch Mystery (#1), Fourth Floor Twins and the Fortune Cookie Chase (#2), Fourth Floor Twins and the Disappearing Parrot Trick (#3), Fourth Floor Twins and the Silver Ghost Express (#4), and Fourth Floor Twins and the Skyscraper Parade (#5).
