Umina, LisaMilo Finds His Best Friend: 10th Anniversary Edition (originally published in 2000; republished in 2010 by Halo Publishing International, P. O. Box 025385, Miami, FL  33102).   Who is your best friend?  Milo is a cute, cuddly, little white bear who decides that today he is going to find his best friend, so he asks several creatures, “Will you be my best friend and play with me till day’s end?”  These include Andy the ant, Copy the cat, Bonnie Blue Jay, Betty the bee, Freddy the frog, Mack the mole, Benny the bunny, Tommy the tiger, Frank the fish, Pete the pig, and Harriet the horse.  However, each one has a reason for not being able to be Milo’s friend.  Milo is very discouraged, but God speaks to him.  Will Milo find his best friend today?  And who do you think it will be?

Author Lisa Umina and her friend Milo are on a mission to share with children around the world that they will always have a best friend in God.  Milo Finds His Best Friend is great resource for parents to help them introduce their youngsters to God and show them that they can start a relationship with God by simply talking to Him.  It is a wonderful story for reading aloud to preschoolers, and with its rhyme and repetition it is perfect for beginning readers as well.  Chad Thompson’s bright, bold illustrations make the message even more appealing.   Other books by Lisa about Milo are Milo and the Green Wagon, which I have previously reviewed, and Milo Moments.
