Wagner, KarenAnimal Talk (published in 1990 by Golden Books). This Little Golden Book is another one of the “real books” which we used when our boys were little to help introduce scientific concepts, such as animals, plants, astronomy, etc.  With a couple of cute baby animals, perhaps little lions or bears—it is hard to tell exactly—for the cover illustration, it is a beautiful picture book of animals and how they communicate with each other, giving an interpretation of what various animal actions mean and intended for Level 2 independent reading or for parents to read to preschoolers.  Author Karen Wagner has written other books for children such as A Friend Like Ed; Bravo, Mildred and Ed; Silly Fred; Chocolate Cookies; and Mososaurus: Ruler of the Sea.
