Jennings, Terry J. The Young Scientist Investigates Structures (published in 1984 by Oxford University Press; republished by Children’s Press, Chicago, IL). This book, part of “The Young Scientist Investigates” series, is a very interesting discussion for young people about many different kinds of structures, natural and man-made, such as animals, exo-skeletons, human and animal skeletons, trees, foundations, walls, roofs, bridges, roads, building, skyscrapers, cranes, and dams. It has a couple of accompanying sections with review questions for study, things to do, and experiments to try. Some nineteen other titles are listed in the series, including Electricity and Magnetism, Heat, Light and Color, Pond Life, and Sea and Seashore.
