Horn, John J., with Roy, Pat and Sandy. Jonathan Park: A New Beginning, Book 2 (published in 2013 by Vision Forum Ministries, 4719 Blanco Rd., San Antonio, TX 78212). Dr. Kendall Park, a Ph.D. vertebrate paleontologist of Santa Fe, NM, and his family, wife Angela, daughter Katie, son Jonathan, and father Benjamin, along with Jim Brenan, an Abiquiu, NM, rancher, and his family, wife Martha, daughter Jessie, and son Ryan, make a discovery of a lifetime when they find a dinosaur graveyard on the Brenan ranch. They plan to open a creation museum. But will their dream come true become a nightmare? How will it be affected when the cliffs overhanging the site collapse, a peculiar millionaire invites the Parks and Brenans to Africa on a fossil dig that endangers their lives, they are detained by a Utopian cult which believes in UFOs, and Dr. Park becomes embroiled in a problem at Jonathan’s school?
A New Beginning, which is Book 2 in the new “Jonathan Park Adventure Series,” is adapted from the “Jonathan Park” radio episodes 5-8 in the audio album Jonathan Park Volume I: The Adventure Begins. Each chapter not only tells an exciting story but also provides children and adults with scientific evidence regarding evolution and other similar topics that is in harmony with the Word of God. Along the way, Jonathan learns some important lessons in humility and forgiveness. In doing some research on the series, I did find out that a previous attempt to translate the “Jonathan Park” radio adventures into book form was made with Jonathan Park and the Secret of the Hidden Cave, published in 1999 by Master Books. Dr. Park constantly reminds us that this is our Father’s world–He created it, and we can explore it, so we should live the adventure.
