McGuire, Leslie. Susan Perl’s Human Body Book (published in 1977 by Platt and Munk). When our boys were young, we used various textbooks to give some structure to their homeschooling. However, whenever possible we supplemented their studies with “real books” that related to the topics on which they were working at the time. When our older son Mark was learning about the human body in his grade two science and health, we checked this Cricket Book, which briefly introduces the skeleton, muscles, skin, heart, and brain and outlines the functions of digesting and breathing, out of the library for him to read. It has an easy to understand text with very colorful illustrations.
